Truths In Life

1. Very few things you buy will be the answer to the problem you bought them to solve.

2. Keep the volume down on everything. It's like salt, you can get use to less of it.

3. You're almost always better off keeping your mouth shut.

4. When in the company of sensible men we ought be doubly cautious of talking too much, least we lose two good things, their good opinions and our own improvements for what we have to say we knew, but what they have to say we know not.

5. We owe much to our friends, but all things considered; it strikes me that I owe even more to my enemies. The real person springs to life under a strain, even better than under a caress.
